This is the story of a degenerate incarnation of trashy garage punk, featuring members of Fiction Romance, Jungle Fever, Hors Service, Haine Brigade, and Sourire Kabyle, leading bands on the French underground scene In 2017, severely shaken by the demons of rock ‘n’ roll, the four protagonists were invested with a mission: to form a new squad in the service of the God of Trash! Thee Gunlocks was born, with a single credo: “play it LOUD baby”!!!!!!! Concerts quickly followed one after another throughout France. In 2018, in just four days, the band found time to record six tracks in analog in Marseille with Rudy Namite (member of La Flingue and Aggravation, among others). These six tracks were released the following year on a vinyl EP simply titled: Thee Gunlocks HATE YOU!! This first release was made possible by the labels Stryckhnine Records, Pigmé Records, and TAWA Records, A few months later, after several exciting opening shows with Peter and the Test Tube Babies, The Jackets, Vibrators, The Cavemen, etc., Covid struck, cutting short the momentum of a band on a roll, which was preparing to invade Germany on a 15-date blitzkrieg tour. Damn!!! After a night fueled by napalm and invoking the gods of trash rock ‘n’ roll, the band decided to get back to work immediately on a new album. With their picks sharper than ever, the four returned to Rudy Namite’s studio in Marseille in July 2020. The result: eight vicious compositions that exude urgency and savagery. The musical equivalent of hordes of Huns galloping across the steppe with sabers drawn. Having decided to give free rein to their baser instincts, French labels Adrénaline Fix RECORDS, Pigmé RECORDS, Stryckhnine Records, and Spanish label Sweet Groove RECORDS released this vinyl LP in December 2021.
